Shut the DOORS.

Kids say the funniest things.

The other day Malachi and Zeek we’re playing Wii, when I heard Malachi say, “Shut the front door!!!”

and

the door wasn’t open.

I walked around the corner and said, “Malachi…we don’t say THAT.  Where did you hear it???”

“A commercial.” he said.

“We’ll we don’t say THAT.” I said as I tried NOT.to.laugh.

He looked at me with a look only an INNOCENT boy can look.

He said, “You say it all the time.”

Um…yes, but when I say it….

I really want the door closed.   LOL

“Well…we don’t say THAT.” I said and walked back into the kitchen.

As I turned the corner I heard Malachi say to Zeek, “Why can’t we say that???”

Zeek said , “Because it doesn't MEAN THAT.  It means something opposite.”

I could almost HEAR Malachi thinking from the kitchen.

“You mean like…..Shut the BACK DOOR?”

LMAO

This. is. the. life.

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!!!!!!

It was “Dr. Seuss Day” at the Vallone Academy today!!!

We had a great time and read ALL of the Dr. Seuss books we had checked out at the library or had in OUR library!!!

One fish, two fish.

The kids also had an art lesson on Dr. Seuss.

So…In HONOR of Dr. Seuss:

It was Fun, Fun I say…

To have a homeschool “Dr. Seuss Day”…

The Vallone Academy was READING and RHYMING…

There was also a bit of JUMPING and CLIMBING….

But now were done, done with school for the day…

Now its  Chores and  laundry and other Mom Duties….

Its A GOOD THING my kids are such CUTIE-PATOOTIES!!!

So Cliché……….

We started back to our HomeSchool Co-op today.

The kids were soooo excited.

We had PE at a local park where they did a “physical fitness test ” type activity…..running laps and then  pull ups.

Then the kids just had a FREE FOR ALL and played for about 30 minutes.

Fun, Fun, Fun!!!!!

The kids were STOKED to see all their friends again.

Its such a great MIX of people….

All coming together because we have ONE CENTRAL THING in common.

Homeschooling.

Every time we get together(every Friday) I can’t help but think of what a BLESSING it is to have a group of people who can all COME TOGETHER for the purpose of fun and fellowship.

Even if we are all TOTALLY different in other ways.

We can all learn from each other.

And as HOMESCHOOLERS….we NEED that.

Anyway…..

After PE we headed over to the church to have our classes.

Zeek is taking a SURVIVAL CLASS.

AWESOME!!!

Along with this list he also told me that he HAD TO HAVE a pocket knife that locks because he HAS TO whittle a spear before class next Friday.

LOVE IT!!!!!

And then there was Shashas class.

She is taking EMBROIDERY.

PERFECT!!!!!

Today she learned how to do a RUNNING STITCH.

HERE is her 1st attempt:

I LOVE the fact that Mrs.. Jill had them use the gingham fabric so that they could measure the stitches…GENIOUS!!!!!

And here is her attempt at a straight stitch with NO GINGHAM!!!!!

Pretty Good for a 7 year old!!!!

This goes along PERFECT with her 4H sewing we are doing.

Last weekend we were given a SEWING MACHINE by Jays Mom.

It was his Grandmothers…so sweet.

Shasha was BEGGING for 2 days to open it up and see if it worked.

And when we DID she was one HAPPY GIRL!

Soooo SURVIVAL CLASS and EMBROIDERY….

We are soooo CLICHE’!!!!!

BUT

Its GREAT to be a HOMESCHOOLER!!!!!

I dont know IF you know…..

BUT

There is a whole “virtual world” out there.

Not the “Make your own character and room” type of VIRTUAL WORLD.

BUT-

A world on the internet that is full of people that become “Friends”.

The share ideas, problems, solutions, crafts, homeschool stories, etc…..

I have found this to be a GREAT support system!

Even if you NEVER meet these people outside the “Blogosphere”…it’s comforting to know that there are others “Out there” like yourself.

Like  a “SELF-Help bookshelf” at your fingertips!

AWESOME!

They can literally click on ANYTHING in the KIDO’Z world…

and NEVER come across ANYTHING that is not KID-FRIENDLY!

LOVE IT!!!!!!!

And did I mention that it is FREE!!!!!!!!!!

She came over the other day and gave the kids a YOGA LESSON.
