Lost...really?

If you have ever met my husband you will understand this.

He is AMAZING.

He's charismatic...in all the right ways.

He is a REBEL at heart....for all the right reasons.

He is energetic...at all the right times.

And he is giving.....to a fault sometimes.(If that is possible.)

He has a heart of gold and wins you over almost instantly.

It is amazing...
People and animals GRAVITATE towards him.

He just CONNECTS with people...effortlessly.

Seriously....Amazing and WEIRD ....
all at the same time.

I knew I loved him, as soon as we really talked.

I knew.

It just happens like that sometimes.

Which is WHY....
when the 2nd stray dog showed up 3 days ago...
I knew it was Jay.

They are just drawn here.

Dogs.
People.
Birds.
Kids.

Its a vibe.....
and now....
The dog wont leave.

A kid even came and took it to his house today after school.
He was back in 90 min...flat.
And CRYING for us to let him in the gate.

When I asked him what the dog was doing back Jay said with a smile, "I dont know. He likes us. We're calling him - LOST."

Sweet, compassionate, CRAZY man....
Gotta love him.

The Circle of LIFE….

The kids are ALWAYS finding grasshoppers in the yard.

Sooooo…I wasn’t surprised the other day when Shasha came to the front door with a REALLY COOL green grasshopper in her hand.

She held it up and said, “Mom…Look at this grasshopper.  It has BIG EYES and looks REALLY COOL!”

So I looked at it and we talked about how amazing it was for a few minutes…

We admired how God made it PERFECTLY.

Then I said, “Well, Its really cool, go outside and let it go before it gets hurt.”

She looked at me and without skipping a beat said, “No!!!  I'm feeding it to the CHICKENS!”

LOL

I guess it is the circle of life………

Vegetarian Déjà Vu….

As I said before…..Our kids ALWAYS want to be like Zeek.

He’s older.

He’s cooler.

He’s MORE fly!!!!

Last night we went and got the kids some food on our way home.

It was 8pm.

We were TIRED.

And I didn’t want to cook.

(Lazy, Bad, un-smart…I know.  But we were TIRED from swimming in the pool all day.)

So we got home I sat all the kids up with their food.

They had all(except Zeek-he already ate.) ordered chicken fingers and french fries.

(again-I feel BAD even WRITING it. UUUggghhhh.)

Malachi then took 1 BITE and said, “ Mom- I’m a Vegetarian!”

I said , “You are????”

He said, “Yes, every time I eat it now I think I can taste CHICKEN GUTS!”

I am SURE Zeek had SOMETHING to do with this.  LOL

He probably heard Zeek say that at some point.

So funny…they LOVE their Zeek.

Remember THIS STORY about Zeek?????

And I ‘ll bet you KNOW what Shahshas remark was when she hear Malachi say that…..

AGAIN…”I’ll take HIS!”

Such a sweet love these kids share…down to the CHICKEN. 

No more chicken…to EAT.

Throughout our lives, we have eaten ALL DIFFERNT WAYS.

Sometimes MORE strict..

Sometimes LESS strict…

From Vegan to Vegetarian to eating chicken.

Back and forth between .

(We DO NOT eat red meat or pork…due to our FAITH.)

When Zeek was little we were vegetarians.

Than we moved to Costa Rica and after about 5 months there,we decided we were going to eat more chicken.

It was one of the cheapest things to eat there.

And we pretty much HAD to eat what was CHEAP.

But-we never could get Zeek to eat chicken.

He just said he didn’t like it.

And we didn't force him.

But- about a year ago he started eating chicken.

And he liked it…pretty much.

He was still pretty PICKY about HOW it was cooked, but he would eat it…for the most part.

Then the other day during lunch I asked him if he wanted chicken.

“No maam” he said.

I said, “Why not?”

And then he looked at me with the sweetest TEARY EYES and said, “Mom, now that we HAVE CHICKENS, I don’t think I can EAT CHICKEN.”

He was almost CRYING.

It was such a sweet moment.

A true glimpse into his soul.

A layer of WHO HE IS.

Another piece to the BEAUTIFUL PUZZLE that is coming together in front of my eyes.

I looked at him and said, “Well, I guess that makes you a vegetarian!”

And he said, “I guess so.”

It was a proud moment for me.

He was ASSERTING himself and HIS BELIEFS.

LOVE IT.

I then looked at the other kids and said , “Has anyone else decided to be a vegetarian?”

To this Shasha said…”I’ll take HIS!”

Figures.

LOL.

Water "Birds".....

We are sooo blessed to live in such an AMAZING place!!!

Tonight...after Jay got home from work- we headed down to the beach.

We met his twin brother and his family down there.

It was soooooo beautiful...the water was CRYSTAL CLEAR!

A strange OCEAN GREEN color...so clear I could see my chipped toenail polish!

When we got there we couldn't help it....We all dove right in.

Jeff, Amy, Sebastian, Anastasia, Lonnie, Jay, Me, Zeek, Shasha, Malachi AND Sheba!!!

We swam for a while...then Sheba wanted to surf.

That girl will probably be our PRO surfer...she LOVES it!!!

Anyway....WE were all swimming and as I looked out about 40 feet in front of us I saw SOMETHING!

At first I thought it was sea foam...because it looked kinda CREAM COLORED.

Then Amy said to me...."Look at all those Stingrays!"

And THEN I could tell what it was....There were 100's of stingrays "surfing" in the waves.

They were sooo beautiful.

It was an amazing moment...all the kids were amazed.

Over and over again they would swim past in BIG groups, just flapping their "wings".

They look like a strange water bird...without a care in the world.

What a day....What a LIFE!!!
