“Fabulous Book” Friday!!!!!

book guide

YEAH!!!!  Its Friday!!!!

Its “Fabulous Book” Friday here in our little world.

This week has been a DOOZIE!!!!!!!!!!!!

The kids were ALL sick …at one point or another.

Thank goodness God decided to space it out because 1 at a time is ENOUGH!!!!!!!!

One highlight of my week was going to the library …ALONE.

You read that right…ALONE.

I was there to get “supplies”…which means MOVIES.

You see I have been “in this” long enough to know…

when 1  is down with illness….the REST are SURE to follow.

So first chance I got Iwas off to the library.

I actually checked out SOOOO MANY movies that I felt the need to  EXPLAIN that there were 4 soon-to-be SICK children in the house ….THAT is why we needed soooooo many movies.

I also got to look at the MOMMY BOOKS.

I wandered thru the library just LOOKING.

NO kids behind me pulling books off the shelf to look at.

No giving “the look” .

It was wonderful.

I re-checked out this book.

I have read it before, but it is so simple and easy to read that I am reading it again…

If you are a homeschool Mom…..or a Mom interested about the WEIRD WORLD of HOMESCHOOLING.

Give Thanks for this day and Give Thanks for this Book!

“Fall/Sick Day” …..still crafty!

October 09 012

The “sickness’ has run thru the family this week.

It went thru everyone and now has hit Zeek.

Poor Boy….So sad.

Because the sickness has been stagered ..we have had school all week till today.

When the oldest getssick….its time for a CHILL DAY.

October 09 013

A day of CRAFTY learning.

Shasha read to the kids a few books about fall.

and they made leaf rubbings while I read them a book.

Then we made the cutest FALL CRAFT:October 09 029The kids are playing CHECKERS now…

Zeek is still “down”…..

Maybe hell feel better when he smells the PUMPKIN CUPCAKES were about to make!!!!!

Check out this blog....LOVE all the craft and FUN!!!!

Ive been behind on my posts lately...

This week has been a mixture of school and sickness.

The little kids got sick on Monday and it went thru ALL OF THEM...
were on Zeek now.

We have managed to PRETTY MUCH keep up with our schoolwork...
because GOD so kindly stagered the sickness.

Pray that Jay and I dont get it.

Especially Jay..we all know how "fun" it is when the husband gets sick!!!

A SHORT all it takes.

heart 2 Pictures, Images and Photos

Today was Malachis Day!!!!

I have been trying to take 1 child with me to do SOMETHING special each Sunday.

And TODAY was his day...he was soooo excited!

Personally...I was glad it was his day because he has a little bit of "FREAK OUT-ITIS" and we needed to have a talk.

I woke up this morning and was excited because I knew he was THRILLED!

I had no idea where I was going to take him but we were going....

We got in the car and he said, "I am sooo excited Mom!"
Precious boy....

So I asked him if he ws hungry and he said he was...of course.

I looked at my phone and it was 10:30...

and he wanted FRENCH FRIES.

We pulled into Sonic and sat and ate our french fries at 10:30 in the morning sun..
so sweet.

Then we headed to Michaels craft store.

I needed some felt for the Kinders Math...(more on that later).

We went in and looked around at all the neat stuff...daydreaming of all the crafts we could do!!!!

I could seriously get LOST in there!

He LOVED that place.

Then we headed to WALMART.

SOOOOO much easier with 1 child...i do have to say!

I was expecting to have to entertain him.

I was FULLY prepared for the park, carousel, whatever.

Funny thing Walmart he said, "Mom- can we go home. Cameron is there I want to PLAY!"

And there it was....he had had enough!!!!

Note to self...A 5 year olds "attention" needs can be met fairly quickly!

But in our short "date" we did have that talk about behavior, life, and consequences.

Ill let you know tomorrow how well it all "sunk in"!

And to top the "date" off nicely...

As we pulled in the driveway he said, "Mom- I really LOVED what we just did!"

As you can heart was melting.

I know he had a great time because as I am writing this he came in and handed me a "book" he had made ...all about our TRIP TODAY!!!!

Sweet, sweet Malachi.

"Fabulous Book Friday"

Family Driven Faith Pictures, Images and Photos

I know, I know.

I can't say enough about this book.

I LOVE it.

I read so many books at one time because I can only read for a few minutes at a time because of my kids.

But THIS has been my GO-TO pick me up.

Its always good for an "escape" for a moment.

I always come away feeling like I have some things to THINK ABOUT.

Capter 3 has been my FAVORITE SO FAR.

"Learn to Love"

Whata title! We all FEEL like we just love freely, but in reality(especially for a woman) we are so confused by what love actually is.

From a young age we get so confused betwwen real LOVE and what Voddie Baucham Jr.(the author) calls the Greco-Roman myth of ROMANTIC LOVE.

We expect sooo much.
We want a fairy tale.
Seriously...we EXPECT a fairy tale.
Just like in the Disney movies.

And MOST of the starts that way.

HOT..Like a fire.

Most relationships start in THAT way.

and THAT love has its PLACE.

Don't get me wrong...I LOVE that kind of love.

Im actualy a 'Greco-Roman myth" love junkie.

I am a sucker for it.

But SLOWLY...Im working on it.

"While love is a large part of the love equation, it must not be the sum total. Although love is accompanied by emotion, BIBLICAL LOVE IS NOT LED BY EMOTION. Emotions change."

"Newsflash: Marriage is HARD!!!"

That "fairy Tale " love fades.

We get swallowed in our lives.
We have kids.
We go to work.
We cook meals.
We Homeschool kids...ALL DAY.
We are TIRED.

"Fairy Tale" love wont LAST.

It simmers.

Its OK that it simmers.
It is SUPPOSED to simmer.

What kind of people would we be if all we cared about was THAT kind of love.

This is when BIBLICAL LOVE comes in.

"Biblical Love knows nothing of backing out when things getr tough. Biblical love gives without expecting, goes the extra mile, sacrafices for others...
it is not constantly seeking the emotional high that often characterizes immature relationships but instead is content with the depth and breadth that only the the love of a maturing, godly relationship can provide. Biblical love is not constantly looking for a better deal: it is too busy thanking GOD for the REAL deal."

I mean seriously...CAN YOU ARGUE WITH THAT??????????

Not so UGLY Bread..........

5 He who mocks the poor shows contempt for their Maker;
whoever gloats over disaster will not go unpunished.

6 Children's children are a crown to the aged,
and parents are the pride of their children. Proverbs 17:5-6

We drove up on a man and I caught his eye....but I had no money to give.

He was standing there with a sign.

Ugghhh...I hate that.

We usually have SOMETHING TO GIVE.

After we passed, Sheba said(from the backseat)...
"Mom, He was.....(she couldn't figure out what TO SAY)".

Shasha jumped in and said....
"Mom, He had a sign."
"It said he was HUNGRY".

Then Sheba said the FUNNIEST THING EVER!!!!

She said..."Mom, Why didn't you pay him?"

So Funny!!!!

We usually have some kind of change or a few dollars to give.

This time we had NOTHING!!!

So she was wondering WHY?

Why didn't we "pay" the man??

He was HUNGRY!!!

Sweet child was so confused.

I could see it on her face.

As GOD would have it we just so happen to have the HOMEMADE BREAD we had spent the last few HOURS making at Amy's....

So the girls decided that they wanted to give him some bread.

We circled around and pulled up next to him and handed him the bread.

The look on his face was PRICELESS!!!

He ws sooooo THANKFUL!

What a wonderful end to a wonderful evening!

As we drove away..
In my rear view mirror
I could see my 2 awesome daughters that care sooo much about a man they dont even know.

And in my side mirror..
I could see the man who had a little more energy from some UGLY homemade bread.

What a Blessing!!!

What a LIFE!!!!!!!!1

"Fabulous Book Friday"

Shainee let me borrow this book a YEAR ago...

I love it.....

It "talks" you thru LOTS of things:

His Work
His Sexuality
His affection
His Mind
His Choices
His Trials
His Priorities
His Past
His Fatherhood
His Marriage

Each topic is divided into a few pages.

A few CHOICE words.

From "His Sexuality":

For a wife, sex comes out of affection. She doesn't want to be affectionate with a man who makes her feel angry, hurt, lonely, disappointed, overworked, under supportive, uncared for, or abandoned. But for a husband, sex is PURE need. His eyes, brain, and emotions get clouded if he doesn't have that release. He has trouble hearing anything his wife says or seeing what she needs when that area of HIS is neglected.
Wives sometimes have it BACKWARDS. They think, " We can have sex AFTER we get those other issues settled. But actually there is a far greater chance of settling the other issues if sex comes first.

If you have a a understand this!!

My husband TOTALLY FITS into THIS group of men.

(Sorry Jay)...Although I am SURE he wouldn't care if I said it! LOL

THIS is why we as WOMEN, have to make SEX a priority.

We cant wait for the ROMANTIC FEELINGS.

We cant wait for A NIGHT OUT.

We have to realize that it is MUCH MORE of a PRIMAL INSTINCT for THEM.

We have to sometimes ....for lack of better words.....

Yep...Take one for the team.

Im sure that I'm going to hear about THIS!!! LOL

That's right...even when your tired,mad,frustrated.

I am learning that the FREQUENCY of sex should be determined by the OTHER persons needs.
and SOMETIMES mine.

Something is built in the man and the marriage when THIS need is met by his wife.
Something is diminished when it is not.

1 Cor 7:17
As God has distributed to each one, as the LORD has called each one, so let him walk.
