So is LIFE….

bird2 Shasha has been SUCH the little photographer lately.

She is CONSTANTLY running in from outside to get her camera.

She has a GREAT EYE for it.

AMAZING actually.

The other day she was out in the yard and she spotted a very small butterfly.

Immediately she wanted to take a picture…

so after getting her camera and SLOWLY STALKING the tiny butterfly for what seemed like HOURS, she knelt down slowly and steadily…

she was ready for the PERFECT SHOT.

And RIGHT BEFORE  she was about to take the shot…

FROM OUT OF NOWHERE a bird swiftly flew down and GOBBLED that sweet butterfly up right in front of her eyes!!!!!!!!!

She was SHOCKED.

I think she was AMAZED that she actually SAW IT HAPPEN!!!!

She came running into the house saying, “A bird just ate that butterfly up, RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!!!!!”

We smiled and talked about the circle of life.

So is life, Baby….so is LIFE.

Early Morning……

Dim Light.

Birds chirping.

like a blanket of FRESH.

New Life.

All of which make their way into my life in the EARLY MORNING.

Who is “IN”??????

Haiti purses 026

A few months ago, my friend Heather, introduced me to a GREAT IDEA!!!

A PURSE PARTY for Haiti from Heartline Ministries.

It is a way for US , in the United States, to contribute in SOME SMALL WAY to the people of Haiti.

Heartline Ministries is a WONDERFUL organization that is ALL ABOUT Haiti!!!

They have ALL KINDS of programs from adoption to a Talapia farm to feed MORE people.

One program that has really touched my heart is the WOMENS PROGRAM.

This is what HEARTLINE MINISTRIES says about their WOMENS program:

"Each week over 100 women come through our center as part of our various programs. These women live day to day just trying to make it through and feed their children. Many are just trying to survive. Our program changes that. Women who have never earned a dollar in their lives are now earning money as they sew. Women who had no parenting skills are now taking better care of their children. Women who could not read and write are now learning to. Women who have had no prenatal care are getting the attention they so desperately need. Women light up when they hear the sound of their baby’s heartbeat for the first time."

“Our first sewing class started on February 18, 2008 with fifteen women and seven graduated. Five of the women who graduated have started to earn money from their sewing skills. Even those who did not complete the class have gained skills that are allowing them to earn some money. Three of the graduates have earned enough money to purchase their own sewing machines. In fact, one woman has made enough money that she has been able to bring her children back from the village so that they can live with her and have her raise them. Within a six month time frame she has earned about 6 years worth of wages (half of it going back to her business). None of the women that started the program were able to provide for their families before the class. Most of them worked as merchants buying and selling products, but unfortunately, most of the merchants end up in debt to those who provide them goods as they are unable to sell enough goods at a high enough price. This class has been a miracle for these ladies as they can now provide for their families in a positive and healthy way.”

Enough said…AWESOME!!!

ANYWAY…I have joined with Heartline Ministries to throw a PURSE PARTY!!!!

This is how it happened…

I contacted a woman at Heartline Ministries about having a purse party and was put on a LONG LIST.

I waited about 10 weeks actually.

Then One day I cam home to find a BIG BOX from Haitian Creations.

Inside were ALL the purses, Haitian recipes for the party,  AND a video to watch at the party on HEARTLINE MINISTRIES.

I opened the box and was so MOVED by all these beautiful purses and bags!

I ACTUALLY cried while I looked thru the box…REALLY..I cried.

It is amazing to think about the fact that STRONG, BEAUTIFUL Haitian Women had HAND MADE all these purses/bags…and now they were in MY HOUSE.

And here is where YOU COME IN:

I am having a PURSE/BAG Party on Sunday, May 2 @ 2 pm.

We will watch the video, eat some Haitian food, and MAKE THESE WOMEN SOME MONEY!!!!!!

100% of the proceeds go to the women.

The purses/bags cost from $10-$40.

There are ALL KINDS.

All different fabrics and they are ONE OF A KIND, FAIR TRADE and HELPING THE HAITIAN ECONOMY!!!!

What could be better?????

Who is “In”????

Lets sell ALL these purses/bags and go home KNOWING we have DONE SOMETHING.

I'm thinking MOTHERS DAY gifts, Graduation gifts, etc……

And to all of you OUT OF TOWN:

I think the easiest way for you to go about getting a bag/purse is to order from Heartline Ministries online.

Look under “Browse Products” and you can pick one out and get it sent RIGHT TO YOU !!!

And if you live near us and cant make it to the party but DO WANT A PURSE…LET ME KNOW.

Well get together and work it out.

Those are the traits that SHINE in my husband.

    He has a gift.

    A gift from GOD.

    I Vibes 018

    I mean…

Were talking about a man that has SUCH AN AMAZING heart and loves me for me…

    • One time.. while I was pregnant with Zeek,   I was soooo upset by the weight that I was gaining during the pregnancy.I was beside myself and no amount of him TELLING ME it didn’t matter was going to work.So you know what he did????He covered EVERY MIRROR  in the house with paper and then printed out LOTS of bible versus and positive thoughts and made a collage on all the mirrors. As if he JUST KNEW what I needed.

    He can do ANYTHING.

    Build Anything,

    Make anything.

All I have to do is ask.

When I think about my life….

It amazes me that I WAS BLESSED so THOURALLY.

After all that I have done.

    I was BLESSED LIKE THIS?????

I am forever humbled by this gift of an amazing husband and Father.

    Happy Birthday to Jay..

O sing unto the LORD a new song: sing unto the LORD, all the earth" (Psalm 96:1).

Their greeting surprised me that morning. As the sun rose, their warbling song filtered through the window and lifted my spirit with the hope of spring. My patience had been running thin for the past several weeks, and God knew I needed a boost to finish our homeschooling year. With their joyful melodies ministering to my soul, I listened in amazement and smiled as I watched them sing. Their tiny bodies shook and resonated with sound, appearing as if they used their entire being. "Amazing," I thought to myself. "These little wrens do a better job of praising the Lord than I do."

Of all God's creation, humans seem to have the hardest time consistently praising God. Homeschoolers grow tired near the end of the school year and forget God is in control. With impatient hearts and complaining spirits, we trudge on in our own effort, as we push to the final homeschooling days before summer. Instead of singing praises to God for the homeschool joys He has given, we forget our blessings and simply focus on getting through our schoolwork. Satan smiles as he realizes he has succeeded in robbing us of our song.

How about you? Has it been awhile since God heard a song of praise from your lips? If you're experiencing difficulty in finding joy during these last days of homeschooling, you would do well to learn the lesson of praising the Lord from God's little wren. "The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him" (Psalm 28:7).

Lord, forgive me for failing to praise and thank You for Your many blessings. Put a new song in my heart today and let me rejoice in the goodness of Your love.  Amen.

    Unschool-ish Days…..

    Springin' it 007

    Its official…..

    we have IT.

Were coming to the end of our school year and cant hardly see straight for NEED of SUMMER.

This week we had Monday off because Dad was home and we cleaned the house and ORGANIZED.

Which is something that NEEDS to be done..BUT DOSEN’T get done on  SAT/SUN doesn’t   because of our schedule these days.

I work on Friday AND Saturday nights from 8pm-3am.

Which means that I am TIRED on Sunday and don’t get ANYTHING done.

And all THAT does is make MONDAY our SUNDAY.

    And YESTERDAY I had a mini-epiphany.

I realized that i was going CRAZY stressing because we are having a hard time doing our bookwork.

We were getting OTHER stuff done but…we were having a hard time SITTING IN OUR DESKS.

I'm not going to lie…we are NOT SITTING in our desks  much the last few weeks.

We have been doing ALOT of gardening, outside nature studies and generally just enjoying the BEAUTIFUL WEATHER.

    Homestead Happy 021

    Football 2010 016

AND because I like to be ORGANIZED and ON TOP OF IT…I have been STRESSED because of the LACK of STRUCTURE we have been getting.

Jay LAUGHS and says….”The kids are FINE.  Let  em’ be. QUIT STRESSING!”

    Then yesterday, It HAPPENED…..

    I realized “It”.

We don't HAVE to be so stressed and structured.

We can ease up a bit.

    We can RELAX….

the kids are FAR BEYOND their grade levels in MOST subjects.

Sheba(Pre-K) has started her Kindergarten Curriculum.

Malachi(K) can READ and has started on his 1st grade curriculum.

Shasha(1st) reads at about a 5th grade level and is BORED with 1st grade math.

And Zeek(3rd) has made HUGE IMPROVEMENTS in his reading this year and has TESTED OUT of his last 3 math units.

We eased up on History this year …MAINLY because of a book I read.

    THIS BOOK to be exact.

    There it is.

Were RELAXING  and having some Uschool-ish Days.

Here is what we have done THIS WEEK SO FAR:
