One HECTIC lovely schedule!!!!

Well....Its almost time.
I have spent the summer THINKING about what I wanted this year to look like for our homeschool.
Sometimes just THINKING about it makes me throw up a little in my mouth.
3rd grade, 1st grade, Kindergarten, AND preschool.
I'm SWEATING just THINKING about it.
The good thing is that every year I tend to realize how i need to get a little more organized.
A little more DILIGENT with my time.
I need to PLAN a little more everytime I add a grade.
Who am I kidding???
Every year I realize I need to plan ALOT more.
LOL
I was telling a 1st time HS mom friend of mine that I LOVE to have a schedule.
I need a schedule!!!
Even though it is LOVELY to drift thru the LAZY days of summer....
We love the LONG days of swimming, sleepovers, and PJ days.
BUT....by the end of 3 months I am ready for a little order to our lives.
I am ready to get back to bedtimes, school schedules, and SATURDAY night sleepovers!
Every year I realize how much MORE I love my schedule.
I finally have the schoolroom in order ( I only need chairs).
I already made my plans for Bible study and extras.
I am working on mapping out the last few subjects.
This week is CRUNCH week for me.
Nothing like leaving it till the last POSSIBLE minute!LOL
After talking to some of my HS friends...
I decided to post what OUR school day will look like.

An "Analog" Girl????

Life is strange.
Sometimes right when you feel like your "in the loop", its JERKED away from you.
That was what happened to us 2 1/2 weeks ago.
First my laptop LCD light went out, THEN the desktop quickly followed after a bout with what I think might have been the computer "FLU"!!!
It was horrible......
I may not be very computer versed- BUT, I learned that in this day and age I WANT a computer.
Notice I said "WANT".
Sometimes we THINK we "NEED" BUT---we "WANT".
Over the last 2 1/2 weeks i learned how CONVENIENT a computer makes things.
With a computer.....
Its so easy to just "talk" to my family ...EVERYDAY.
Without a computer....
I live in a virtual "cave" and recieve "snail mail" (Thanks Mellisa!).
I like to THINK i dont "NEED" things.
I like to THINK that I am an ANALOG GIRL.
But after 2 1/ weeks of "ANALOG"...I realize I am a SEMI-digital girl!
Bring on the Google, facebook, myspace, homeschool blogs, emails, lesson plans, wikipedia, and biblegateway.com!!!!
Now that AWESOME Aunt Cindy has us HOOKED UP in the "kids computer" area-
Onto a NEW LAPTOP...Thanks to an early Bday present from my parents!!!
Were BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!

AND- even the COMPUTER has a virus!
Uuuuggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.....................
Pray for us!!!
HOPEFULLY....Well be back soon!

The "treasure" of LOVE.....

Treasure hunting????

In St. Augustine????

Thats what they told us.

Pawpaw and Mimi Suzy, that is.

Its called "Goecaching".

And apparently...it all the rage, all over the world!!!!!

Who knew?????

Grandparents...that who!

Heres EXACTLY what it is:
Geocaching is an outdoor activity in which the participants use a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver or other navigational techniques to hide and seek containers (called "geocaches" or "caches") anywhere in the world. A typical cache is a small waterproof container (usually a tupperware or ammo box) containing a logbook. Larger containers can also contain items for trading, usually toys or trinkets of little value. Geocaching is most often described as a "game of high-tech hide and seek", sharing many aspects with orienteering, treasure-hunting, and waymarking.

Geocaches are currently placed in over 100 countries around the world and on all seven continents, including Antarctica.[1] There are over 865,000 active geocaches in the world right now.[2]

Pawpaw and Mimi Suzy were the last of the family to visit.

We were really excited to see them after about 7 months.

They had been telling me about Geocaching for about the last 3 or 4 months and it seemed pretty cool.

I KNEW the kids would LOVE it!!

A modern day TREASURE HUNT!!!

They were RIGHT, after Pawpaw gave a short "lesson" on a GPS and how it worked, the rules, and how it was SECRET(as if w/ 4 kids! LOL)...we were off.

The clues for the first CACHE were simple.....it was CLOSE, about 150 feet from our front door actually!!!

It was so fun watching the kids get so into it...And-I have to admit-It WAS FUN!!!!!

I couldnt belive all this treasure hunting was going on- RIGHT BENEATH OUR NOSES!!!!

As Erykah Badu would say, "Im an Anolog girl in a digital world!"

I had NO idea!!!!

We looked for treasure:
(Typical cache treasures are not high in monetary value but may hold personal value to the finder. Aside from the logbook, common cache contents are unusual coins or currency, small toys, ornamental buttons, CDs, or books. Also common are objects that are moved from cache to cache called "hitchhikers", such as Travel Bugs or Geocoins, whose travels may be logged and followed online.)

It was EVERYWHERE!!!

In total I think we found 7...ALL OVER St. Augustine!!

They were everywhere from hidden in the bushes to under benches!

We learned about the site that it was hidden in each time!!!!

AWESOME!!!!.........SECRET SUMMER SCHOOL!!!!!!

And the kids really loved spending the time with Pawpaw and Mimi Suzy.

While they were in town we also had MANY other adventures including:
The movies- "G-force 3d"!!!!
sharktooth hunting in Vilano
ice cream
gourmet cupcake shop
siteseeing downtown
ghost tour(adults only)
homeschool meeting
dinner at Fridays
beach with friends
playing a 2 hour game of UNO-attack!
and MANY MORE...
ALL THE WHILE...searching for treasure!!!

It was great!!!

Although I have to say that the biggest "treasure" we found was LOVE, LAUGHTER, and MEMORIES that we made!!!!

Those things you just cant put in a "cache".

Sugar Sweet with a "Reggae" cherry on Top!!!

Zeek is a REGGAE YOUTH!!!

Anytime were in the car an it is the girls turn for music he says, "Can we PLEASE put it back on REGGAE????"

I LOVE that boy....he is SUGAR sweet!

So you can imagine OUR excitement when we got 3 tix(THANKS RAGGA) for the Stephen Marley concert in St. Augustine!!!

We were sooooooooooooooooooo extremely happy.

It was OUR NIGHT!!!

We got to the amphitheatre RIGHT as the music began playing ....RIGHT ON TIME!!!!

We starte out in the seats because the "pit" was full.

I use the word "pit" loosely...It was a reggae show!

It wasn't a MOSH pit!! LOL

Very QUICKLY I arrive at the fact that THIS was NOT the 1st concert experience my boy was going to have!!!

We wanted to be UP CLOSE an PERSONAL!!!!

SO I said , "This SUCKS!...Lets go there"..an motioned to the front of the stage.

We got there an were sort of just standing there when this guy came up to us.

"Yall want to go onto the floor?"

"YEAH!!!"

So he tol the security guard that we were OK an we went RIGHT IN!

Then in a way I cannot explain...The "pit" opened an we were let right up to the FRONT ROW!!!!!

Now THIS is the 1st concert experience I was talking about!!!!

We stood at the front of the stage an Zeek an Stephens son smile an wave at each other the whole time!!!

PRICELESS!!!!!!

Several times at the show Zeek pivoted around an looked at me just SMILING !!!!

He was sooooo happy!

Then as soon as the show was over... we looked for where the backstage was.

We walked up an stood there looking like we were suppose to be there....LOL

One of the security standing there said..."Their ok"

An we were in!!!

We walked p to the back of the bus an I said to Zeek..."If we meet him you can tell him what your fav songs are."

He was READY!!!

WE walked around the bus an we were FACE to FACE with Stephen Marley, Julian Marley an Ceella Marley!!!

Like a GLORIOUS VISION!!!!

CRAZY!!!

Zeek then acted JUST like me an was soooo starstruck that he COULDN'T say ANYTHING!!

He stood there with a ear to ear grin on his face!!!

Then in true "Jana" fashion, I TOTALLY FORGOT what brilliant thing I was going to say an said..."He LOVES your music!"

MAN...I am such a GROUPIE!!!!

I ALWAYS think about what I am GOING to say an then COMPLETELY FLAIL it!!!

(Note to self: FIX this BEFORE I meet Bobs YOUNGEST son!!! LOL)

So Stephen hugged Zeek tight saying.."Ghetto YOUTH"!!!!

That is when I snapped THIS:

What an AMAZING NIGHT!!!!

An UNBELIEVABLE night in the mix with REGGAE ROYALTY!!!

Best of all was when I asked Zeek what HIS favorite part of the night was an his answer was "Meeting Stephen Marley!"

Sugar sweet I tell ya...That boy is SUPER Sugar Sweet!!!!!
