Do you like Jammin'????

strawberry Pictures, Images and Photos

I want to get some ladies together to learn how to do something that is a "LOST ART".

I want to make JAM.

Were trying to avoid HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP, so this JAM will be heavy on PURE sugar!

I remember when I was little and there was never a time that I went to see my grandparents that there wasnt Homemade Jam or jelly!

I think it would be fun and we could teach this "LOST ART" to our sons and daughters.

I am going to try and get my Memaw to tell me the steps and were on.

Strawberries are on sale 2 for $3 at Wal-mart.

I think you can get the jars there also.

FUN!!!!

Let me know if your in....Do you Like JAMMIN'????

Sounds like such fun. The strawberries will be great. I gave all my canning books to Uncle Mike. He's the jelly maker now.
Check at Walmart in the canning section. They used to have all kinds of information. Also, at least in Texas, the county agent can help.
Wish I was there to help. Of course, you have to watch me, I like the strawberries straight. Like shelling pecans, one for the pot and one for me.
HAVE A GOOD TIME.
love, Mema

The strawberries went on sale down here, Dade County, in February (4 quarts for $5). We bought 12 quarts in total: Froze 6, ate 3, and preserved 3.

My husband and I grew up in the suburbs and never had anyone around JAMMIN! But I'm super glad that we found the inspiration. We're STILL eating those strawberries, even now that they're not so inexpensive anymore.

It is a "lost art," like you mentioned. Like knitting or sewing your own clothes. Our children will definitely learn those, too!
